Kompassie Strategy Day: The Restaurant Game

On April 24, 2026, Richard Moret, Simão Ramos, and Sim Vallentgoed from Ambition Group led a strategy day for the Kompassie team. The session was designed to strengthen mutual collaboration, break old patterns, and set priorities to improve work processes. To simulate the high pressure of daily operations, we used our Restaurant Game, a playful simulation that reflects real-world urgency and decision-making.

The Power of Gamification: The Restaurant Game

The team was divided into three groups of Kitchen, Bar, and Service, to manage a series of interconnected challenges. This simulated environment allowed us to observe the live flow of information and identify specific bottlenecks in team structure, time management, and internal culture. The game demonstrated a fundamental organizational principle. The most effective solutions emerge when teams embrace transparency and share collective knowledge. Strategic Lessons for Organizational Growth

Following the strategy day, we identified several areas to optimize Kompassie's productivity:

  • Strategic Prioritization: A framework was implemented to distinguish between urgent tasks and long-term strategic goals. This enables the team to focus on high-impact activities that drive the organization forward.

  • Workflow: The teams are implementing new standards for goal- and result-oriented work. By establishing clear boundaries and structured interaction points, we ensure productivity without compromising the organization's workplace culture.

  • Engagement: We introduced a framework for day-to-day external operations. This ensures that the team’s time is invested in activities that directly contribute to the organization's mission.

Looking Ahead

This workshop was more than a simple simulation. It was a commitment to improve Kompassie’s working methods and strengthen engagement. To protect employees from future burnout, the workshop established clear guidelines for a better internal structure. As a result, Kompassie positions itself for sustainable success and a healthier workplace culture.
